Tests Details :
MRI – Orbit is an advanced imaging procedure that uses magnetic fields and radio waves to generate detailed images of the eye sockets (orbits), including the eyeballs, optic nerves, muscles, and surrounding soft tissues. It provides excellent visualization of structures that are not clearly seen on other imaging modalities.
This scan is commonly used to diagnose conditions such as optic nerve disorders, tumors, infections, inflammation, trauma, and causes of vision problems. It is particularly useful in evaluating unexplained vision loss, eye pain, or swelling. The procedure is safe, painless, and does not involve radiation.
The purpose of this MRI – Orbit test is to:
- Evaluate vision problems or unexplained vision loss
- Assess optic nerve abnormalities
- Detect tumors or abnormal growths
- Identify infections or inflammation
- Examine eye muscles and surrounding soft tissues
- Investigate trauma or injury to the eye region
