D-DIMER Test

This test measures the level of D-dimer, a protein fragment produced when a blood clot is formed and subsequently broken down in the body. It is commonly used as part of the evaluation for abnormal blood clot formation.

A D-Dimer test may help healthcare providers assess the possibility of conditions such as deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or pulmonary embolism (PE), particularly when used together with symptoms, medical history, and clinical risk assessment.
