The Prolactin (Pooled Samples) test involves collecting multiple blood samples at different time intervals and combining (pooling) them for analysis. This method helps reduce the effect of natural fluctuations in prolactin levels, providing a more reliable and accurate result.

Prolactin is a hormone produced by the pituitary gland and plays a key role in reproductive health, including breast development and milk production. Its levels can vary throughout the day due to stress, sleep, and other factors.

This test is especially useful when initial prolactin results are borderline or inconsistent. It helps in better evaluation of conditions such as hyperprolactinemia, infertility, menstrual irregularities, and pituitary disorders.
