The JAK2 Mutation Panel (Exon 12 – 15) Analysis Test is a molecular genetic test that detects mutations in the JAK2 gene, particularly in exons 12 to 15. These mutations are commonly associated with myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPNs), a group of blood disorders characterized by abnormal production of blood cells in the bone marrow.
The most common mutation, JAK2 V617F, along with exon 12 mutations, is frequently seen in conditions such as polycythemia vera, essential thrombocythemia, and primary myelofibrosis.
The purpose of this test is to:
