Tests Details :
CT Dorsal / Thoracic Spine is an advanced imaging test that provides detailed cross-sectional images of the thoracic spine, which is the middle portion of the vertebral column. This region includes the vertebrae, intervertebral discs, spinal canal, and surrounding structures.
The scan is highly effective in detecting fractures, spinal injuries, degenerative changes, disc abnormalities, infections, and tumors. It is commonly used in trauma cases, chronic back pain evaluation, and when precise bone detail is required.
CT imaging offers superior visualization of bony structures compared to standard X-rays and can also assist in planning surgical procedures or monitoring known spinal conditions. In some cases, contrast dye may be used to enhance soft tissue visualization.
The purpose of CT Dorsal / Thoracic Spine test is to evaluate the thoracic spine and surrounding structures.
- Detect fractures or injuries in the thoracic spine
- Assess disc abnormalities and degenerative changes
- Identify tumors or infections
- Evaluate spinal canal and vertebral alignment
- Investigate causes of mid-back pain
- Assist in surgical planning and follow-up
