Tests Details :
The WIDAL Test (Slide Method) is a blood test used to help detect typhoid fever, which is caused by the bacteria Salmonella typhi. The test identifies antibodies produced by the immune system in response to the infection.
In the slide method, a small amount of the patient’s blood serum is mixed with specific antigens on a glass slide. If antibodies against Salmonella bacteria are present, visible clumping occurs, indicating a possible infection.
When a person shows symptoms such as prolonged fever, headache, weakness, stomach pain, loss of appetite, or diarrhea, which are commonly associated with typhoid fever.
The slide method provides a rapid screening result. However, in some cases, doctors may confirm the diagnosis with additional tests or the WIDAL tube method for more detailed analysis.
