The T4 – Total (Serum) test is a blood test used to measure the total amount of thyroxine (T4), a major hormone produced by the thyroid gland that regulates metabolism, growth, and energy levels.

T4 circulates in both bound and free forms, and this test measures the combined total. Abnormal T4 levels may indicate thyroid disorders such as hyperthyroidism (elevated T4) or hypothyroidism (low T4).
