The T3 – Total (Serum) test is a blood test used to measure the total amount of triiodothyronine (T3), a key thyroid hormone that regulates metabolism, energy levels, and overall body functions.
T3 exists in both bound and free forms in the blood, and this test measures the combined total. Abnormal T3 levels may indicate thyroid disorders such as hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid) or, less commonly, hypothyroidism.
