The Smith Antibody (Anti-Sm) test is a blood test used to detect antibodies directed against Smith (Sm) nuclear antigens. These antibodies are highly specific for systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), an autoimmune disease affecting multiple organs.

Although Anti-Sm antibodies are not present in all patients with lupus, their presence strongly supports the diagnosis.
