This test uses nucleic acid amplification technology to provide highly accurate results within a short time, usually within a few hours. It is widely used for early diagnosis of both pulmonary and extrapulmonary tuberculosis.

The purpose of the Mycobacterium TB Gene Expert Test is to

  • To detect Mycobacterium tuberculosis in the sample
  • To diagnose tuberculosis (TB)
  • To identify rifampicin resistance
  • To support early and rapid TB diagnosis
  • To guide appropriate treatment planning
