The Methadone (MTD) test is a diagnostic test used to detect methadone, a synthetic opioid medication, in the body. It is commonly performed using urine, blood, or other biological samples, with urine being the most frequently used.

Methadone is a narcotic analgesic prescribed for the management of moderate to severe pain and for the treatment of opiate dependence (heroin, Vicodin, Percocet, Morphine).

Methadone is often prescribed for pain management and as part of opioid dependence treatment programs. This test helps determine whether methadone is present in the system and is widely used for workplace drug screening, clinical monitoring, and legal purposes.
