The Leptospira IgM + IgG Test is a blood test that detects Immunoglobulin M (IgM) and Immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies produced in response to infection with Leptospira bacteria.

Leptospirosis is a bacterial infection transmitted through contact with contaminated water, soil, or animal urine. It can cause symptoms such as fever, headache, muscle pain, jaundice, and, in severe cases, kidney or liver damage.

IgM antibodies indicate a recent or active infection, while IgG antibodies suggest past exposure or later stages of infection. This combined test helps in accurate diagnosis, determining the stage of infection, and guiding appropriate treatment.

The purpose of this test is to:

• Detect IgM and IgG antibodies against Leptospira
• Diagnose leptospirosis infection
• Differentiate between recent and past infection
• Support timely treatment and disease management
