The Hepatitis E Virus (HEV) Antibody IgG Test is a blood test that detects Immunoglobulin G (IgG) antibodies produced in response to Hepatitis E virus infection. The presence of IgG antibodies typically indicates past exposure to the virus or developed immunity.

Hepatitis E is a liver infection commonly transmitted through contaminated food or water, especially in areas with poor sanitation. While most infections are self-limiting, it can cause serious complications in pregnant women and individuals with weakened immune systems.

The purpose of this test is to:

• Detect IgG antibodies against Hepatitis E virus
• Identify past HEV infection or immunity
• Support diagnosis along with other HEV tests
• Assist in evaluating exposure to the virus
