The HE4 (Human Epididymis Protein 4) Test is a blood test used to measure the level of HE4 protein, a tumor marker that may be elevated in certain types of ovarian cancer.

HE4 is particularly useful in evaluating women with pelvic masses and helps differentiate between benign and malignant ovarian conditions. It is often used in combination with CA-125 and incorporated into risk assessment models such as the ROMA (Risk of Ovarian Malignancy Algorithm).

The purpose of this test is to:

  • Measure HE4 protein levels in the blood
  • Assist in assessing the risk of ovarian cancer
