The 5-HIAA (5-Hydroxyindoleacetic acid) Random Urine test measures the primary metabolite of serotonin in the urine to diagnose carcinoid tumors, which cause excess serotonin production (carcinoid syndrome).

The 5-HIAA Random Urine Test is performed to:
