Tests Details :
CT – KUB (Contrast) is a specialized imaging procedure that uses computed tomography (CT) along with contrast dye to obtain detailed images of the urinary system, including the kidneys, ureters, and urinary bladder.
The contrast agent is injected into a vein, which enhances the visibility of urinary tract structures and blood vessels. This allows better assessment of kidney function, detection of tumors, infections, strictures, and other abnormalities.
CT KUB with contrast is particularly useful when evaluating complex urinary conditions, identifying masses, assessing obstruction, and differentiating between various types of lesions. It provides high-resolution cross-sectional and 3D images for accurate diagnosis.
This scan is commonly recommended when non-contrast imaging is insufficient or when detailed evaluation of urinary tract pathology is required.
This test is recommended for individuals with symptoms or suspected urinary system disorders.
It is advised in the following cases:
- Persistent flank or abdominal pain
- Suspected tumors in kidneys or bladder
- Complex urinary tract infections
- Hematuria (blood in urine)
- Abnormal findings on ultrasound or non-contrast CT
- Follow-up evaluation of known conditions
