Tests Details :
USG – TRUS (Transrectal Ultrasound) is an advanced imaging procedure performed using a specialized ultrasound probe inserted gently into the rectum to obtain clear images of the prostate gland and nearby tissues. This test is commonly used to evaluate prostate enlargement, prostate infections, prostate nodules, infertility concerns, and suspected prostate cancer.
The scan helps doctors assess the size, shape, and structure of the prostate and can also assist in guiding prostate biopsy procedures when required. It is useful in detecting abnormalities that may not be clearly visible on external ultrasound examinations.
The procedure is minimally invasive, generally well tolerated, and does not involve radiation exposure. It is performed by trained specialists and usually takes only a short time to complete.
Test is Recommended for Individuals:
- Experiencing urinary difficulties or prostate symptoms
- Having elevated PSA levels
- Suspected of prostate enlargement or prostate cancer
- Experiencing pelvic or rectal discomfort
