Tests Details :

USG – TRIPLETS NT SCAN is an important prenatal ultrasound examination carried out during the first trimester, usually between 11 and 14 weeks of pregnancy, for women carrying triplets. The scan primarily measures the nuchal translucency (NT), which is the fluid-filled space at the back of each fetus’s neck.

Increased NT measurements may be associated with chromosomal abnormalities such as Down syndrome, congenital heart defects, or other genetic conditions. Along with NT assessment, the scan evaluates fetal heartbeat, growth, anatomy, nasal bone, and overall development of all three fetuses.

The examination also helps determine chorionicity and amnionicity, which identify whether the fetuses share placentas or amniotic sacs. This information is essential for managing triplet pregnancies and monitoring for complications associated with multiple gestations.

As triplet pregnancies are considered high-risk, early screening and detailed fetal assessment play a vital role in prenatal care and pregnancy management.

This scan is performed to:

  • Measure nuchal translucency in all three fetuses
  • Assess the risk of chromosomal abnormalities
  • Evaluate early fetal growth and development
  • Confirm fetal heartbeat and viability
  • Assess nasal bone and other early markers
  • Determine chorionicity and amnionicity in triplet pregnancy
  • Support first-trimester prenatal screening

Available Exclusively at these Prima Diagnostics Centres: Jayanagar, Whitefield, Yelahanka, Sarjapur Road, Kanakpura Road, BTM Layout and RR Nagar.

Tests Preparation :
