USG – THYROID SCAN is a non-invasive imaging test that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce detailed images of the thyroid gland located in the front of the neck. The scan helps assess the size, shape, texture, and structure of the thyroid gland and surrounding tissues.

This examination is commonly performed to detect thyroid nodules, cysts, goiter, inflammation, infections, or tumors. It can also help distinguish between solid and fluid-filled lesions and evaluate enlarged lymph nodes in the neck region.

Thyroid ultrasound is often recommended when patients experience neck swelling, thyroid enlargement, abnormal thyroid function test results, difficulty swallowing, or symptoms related to thyroid disorders.
