USG - Guided Calcium Barbotage

USG - GUIDED CALCIUM BARBOTAGE is a specialized musculoskeletal procedure performed under real-time ultrasound guidance to treat calcific tendinitis. The procedure is commonly used for calcium deposits in tendons, especially around the shoulder’s rotator cuff.

During the procedure, ultrasound imaging helps the doctor accurately identify the calcium deposit and guide a needle into the affected tendon. Sterile saline may be injected to break up and dissolve the calcium buildup, and the fragmented calcium material is then aspirated or washed out. In some cases, anti-inflammatory medication may also be administered to reduce pain and inflammation.
