Urine Glucose – Fasting is a diagnostic test used to detect glucose (sugar) in urine after a period of fasting. Normally, glucose is not present in urine, as it is reabsorbed by the kidneys. Its presence may indicate elevated blood sugar levels.
This test is commonly used as a screening tool for diabetes mellitus and to monitor glucose control in known diabetic patients.
After fasting, a urine sample is collected and tested for glucose.
The purpose of this test is to:
