About this test
Lung function test performed before and after a bronchodilator to measure how much your airways open up. Test code RADPF45.
Spirometry measures how much air you can breathe in and out and how fast. The pre/post bronchodilator version repeats the test after an inhaled bronchodilator, which helps distinguish asthma (reversible airway narrowing) from COPD and other lung conditions.
Performed at the centre by a trained technician; takes about 30–45 minutes. Avoid inhalers for 4–6 hours before the test unless your doctor advises otherwise.
