Tests Details :
MRI Head and Neck Angio with Contrast (MR Angiography) is a non-invasive imaging technique that uses magnetic resonance imaging along with contrast material to visualize the blood vessels of the brain and neck. It provides detailed images of arteries such as the carotid and vertebral arteries, as well as intracranial vessels.
This test is highly effective in detecting vascular conditions such as aneurysms, stenosis (narrowing), blockages, and malformations. It is commonly used in the evaluation of stroke, transient ischemic attacks (TIA), and other cerebrovascular diseases.
MRI angiography does not use ionizing radiation and offers excellent soft tissue contrast, making it a safe and accurate method for diagnosing and monitoring vascular abnormalities. It is also useful in planning surgical or interventional procedures.
This test is recommended for individuals with:
- Suspected stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA)
- Sudden severe headache
- Dizziness or loss of balance
- Vision disturbances
- Weakness or numbness
- Known or suspected vascular disease
- Unexplained neurological symptoms
