Tests Details :
MRI – Enterography with Contrast is an advanced imaging procedure designed to provide detailed visualization of the small intestine and surrounding abdominal structures. It uses magnetic fields, radio waves, and contrast material to enhance image clarity and highlight areas of inflammation, thickening, or abnormal growth.
This scan is particularly useful in diagnosing and monitoring conditions such as Crohn’s disease, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), strictures, fistulas, tumors, and infections. Patients are usually required to drink an oral contrast solution before the scan to distend the bowel, along with intravenous contrast to improve visualization of blood vessels and inflamed tissues.
MRI Enterography offers excellent soft tissue contrast without radiation exposure, making it a preferred choice for repeated imaging, especially in younger patients or those requiring long-term monitoring. The procedure is safe, non-invasive, and highly effective for comprehensive evaluation of the gastrointestinal tract.
This test is recommended for individuals:
- With suspected or diagnosed Crohn’s disease or IBD
- Experiencing chronic abdominal pain or diarrhea
- With unexplained weight loss or gastrointestinal symptoms
- Suspected of bowel obstruction or complications
- Requiring follow-up for known intestinal conditions
- With inconclusive results from other imaging tests
Available Exclusively at these Prima Diagnostics Centres: Jayanagar, Whitefield, and Yelahanka
