MRI – Brain + Contrast + Perfusion is a specialized imaging procedure that combines routine brain MRI with contrast enhancement and perfusion imaging techniques to assess both brain anatomy and blood flow characteristics.

The use of contrast material (gadolinium-based) helps highlight abnormalities such as tumors, infections, inflammation, and areas with disrupted blood-brain barrier. Perfusion imaging evaluates the blood supply to brain tissues, providing critical information about tissue viability, tumor grading, and areas affected by reduced or increased blood flow.

This scan is particularly useful in the evaluation of brain tumors, stroke, ischemia, and other vascular conditions. It helps differentiate between viable and non-viable tissue, assess tumor aggressiveness, and guide treatment planning. It is also valuable in monitoring treatment response and disease progression.

The procedure is non-invasive, safe, and does not involve radiation, though it includes contrast administration.
