Doppler – AV Fistula is a specialized ultrasound examination performed to assess the structure and blood flow of an arteriovenous (AV) fistula, commonly created for hemodialysis access in patients with kidney disease.

This scan uses Doppler technology to evaluate blood flow through the fistula, detect narrowing (stenosis), blockages, thrombosis, reduced flow, aneurysm formation, or other complications that may affect dialysis efficiency.

It helps determine whether the AV fistula is functioning properly and whether it is suitable for dialysis use. The test is also important for routine monitoring after fistula creation and for identifying complications early before they become severe.

The scan provides real-time imaging of the fistula and surrounding vessels, supporting accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
