Tests Details :
A CT Sinogram (or fistulogram) is a diagnostic imaging test that uses contrast dye injected into a fistula or sinus tract, combined with a CT scan, to map its shape, size, and connection to internal organs.
The contrast material outlines the tract clearly, allowing detailed assessment of its length, direction, depth, and any connections to internal organs or cavities. CT imaging provides high-resolution cross-sectional and 3D views, making it highly effective in identifying complex or deep-seated sinus tracts.
CT Sinogram is commonly used in cases of chronic discharging sinuses, post-surgical complications, infections, or suspected fistulous connections. It helps clinicians plan appropriate treatment, including surgical intervention if required.
The procedure is minimally invasive and performed under sterile conditions, usually without the need for general anesthesia.
This test is recommended for individuals with suspected or known sinus tracts.
It is advised in the following cases:
- Persistent or recurrent discharging sinus
- Suspected fistula formation
- Post-surgical complications
- Chronic infections not responding to treatment
- Unexplained skin openings with discharge
- Pre-operative evaluation of sinus tracts
