Tests Details :
CT – Maxilla is a specialized imaging procedure that uses computed tomography (CT) to obtain high-resolution cross-sectional images of the upper jaw (maxilla) and surrounding facial bones.
This scan provides detailed visualization of the maxillary bone, teeth, sinus regions, nasal cavity, and adjacent soft tissues. It is particularly useful for assessing fractures, infections, tumors, dental abnormalities, and congenital conditions.
CT Maxilla is commonly used in cases of facial trauma, dental or orthodontic evaluation, jaw pain, swelling, and pre-surgical planning for procedures such as dental implants, reconstructive surgery, or maxillofacial interventions.
In some cases, contrast dye may be used to enhance the evaluation of soft tissues and suspected lesions. The procedure is quick, non-invasive, and provides precise anatomical detail for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
The purpose of CT Maxilla Scan is to evaluate the upper jaw and surrounding structures.
It helps to:
- Detect fractures or injuries to the maxilla
- Identify tumors or abnormal growths
- Evaluate infections or bone lesions
- Assess dental alignment and structure
- Assist in implant or surgical planning
- Evaluate causes of facial pain or swelling
