CT - Chest Pulmonary Angiogrraphy
CT Chest Pulmonary Angiography (CTPA) is an advanced imaging test designed to visualize the pulmonary arteries that supply blood to the lungs. It uses contrast dye and high-resolution CT imaging to produce detailed images of the lung vasculature.
This test is most commonly used to detect pulmonary embolism (blood clots in the lungs), a potentially life-threatening condition. It also helps in identifying other vascular abnormalities, lung diseases, and conditions affecting blood flow within the lungs.
CT Pulmonary Angiography is fast, non-invasive, and highly accurate, making it the preferred diagnostic tool in emergency situations such as sudden chest pain, shortness of breath, or suspected lung embolism.
